Saugus 28, Righetti 17--Running back Chris Johnson rushed for 142 yards in 20 carries and scored on runs of 44 and one yard to lead the Centurions (3-1) at College of the Canyons.
Quarterback Gregory Marquez completed seven of 15 for 129 yards, including a 17-yard scoring pass to Mark Beatty in the third quarter that gave Saugus a 28-10 lead.
With Saugus trailing in the first quarter, 3-0, linebacker Phillip Waterman intercepted a pass by Righetti’s Nathan Castillo and returned it 83 yards for a touchdown. Waterman also picked off a pass in the third quarter and teammate Nick Lawson had an interception.
