ANGELES NATIONAL FOREST : 10,000 ‘Pot’ Plants Found in Remote Area; Man Held

In a pre-dawn raid, sheriff’s deputies and U.S. Forest Service rangers Thursday discovered more than 10,000 marijuana plants in a remote area of the Angeles National Forest in Little Bear Canyon, east of California 2.
An unidentified man was arrested after the raid, but authorities said they were seeking several other suspects.
Because law enforcement personnel had not finished counting the plants by late Thursday, there was no immediate estimate of the value of the cache, but quality mature marijuana plants are worth as much as $3,000 apiece, U.S. Forest Service Agent John Bennett said.
