Air Service to Lake Tahoe
The new Trans World Express, created last week when TWA signed an operating agreement with Alpha Air, will provide twice-daily nonstop flights from LAX to the Grand Canyon and Mammoth Lakes, and the only air service to South Lake Tahoe.
Service begins Dec. 1 and will operate seven days a week all year with round-trip fares starting at $139.
The carrier, which operates 19-passenger Beechcraft turboprop planes, will also fly from LAX to Burbank, Palm Springs and Orange County and plans to add Phoenix in January. Service to Palm Springs marks TWA’s return to that city after a year’s absence.
Alpha Air will be located in TWA’s terminal at LAX. For schedules and fares, call TWA reservations at (800) 221-2000.
