OUTLOOK
Grable inherits a team that lost all its starters, but the JV team was strong, going 13-1 in league. Grable, trying to recapture Los Amigos’ glory days of the early 1980s, started practice at 12:01 a.m. on Nov. 13, the first day teams could practice. Grable played on one of the Lobos’ better teams, the 1982 squad that reached the Southern Section semifinals. But since then, Los Amigos has qualified for the playoffs only once. If the Lobos contend for the playoffs this season, Yu figures to be one of the reasons. He can score from inside and outside, and for a big man, he can pass. But Yu will need help on the backboards from Weiss and Sianez, who broke his leg during football but has completely recovered. Tagatauli is also coming off a football knee injury and probably won’t be at full strength for a while.
