U.S. Arms Industry

* Your article (World Report, Nov. 30) informs me that our country has over half the world market of tools for killing and destruction. I’m not proud of it. We have filled our own country with weapons, and we see the result. Are war industry profits and jobs so important that we must fill up the whole world with the most lethal (and expensive) weapons possible? And how can anyone think that it’s acceptable to sell these things to poor countries in need of development (like Iraq and Somalia)?
