BOYS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Mannix Leads San Clemente Victory

Luke Mannix, a 6-foot-3 senior forward, scored 20 points to lead San Clemente to a 49-45 overtime victory over Laguna Beach in a nonleague boys’ basketball game Thursday.
Center Phinney Gardner had 12 points and seven rebounds for the Tritons (8-2). Senior guard Ron McDonald scored a game-high 28 points for Laguna Beach (3-8).
In other nonleague games:
Capistrano Valley 59, Estancia 49--Brandon Puffer had 18 points, Dinari Bates added 15 points and eight rebounds and Keith Carson had 10 points to lead Capistrano Valley (8-2). Clay Frenz had 14 points, including four three-pointers for Estancia (6-5).
Century 62, Villa Park 30--Thomas Harmon scored a game-high 25 points for Century (9-2). Ike Harmon had 11 points and Gabriel Aguirre had 10 for the Centurions. Chip Bernards had 12 points for Villa Park (1-7).
Loara 53, Anaheim 35--Scott Davis score 21 of his 31 points in the second half for Loara (7-3). Davis had five three-pointers and 12 rebounds.
Trabuco Hills 72, Foothill 51--Guard Ryan Karnoff had 20 points and forward Rob Warnick added 17 points for host Trabuco Hills (8-3).
In the San Francisco Riordan tournament:
Orange 61, Hayward Logan 43--Jason Krauss had 14 points and 10 rebounds, Danny Garcia had 14 points and eight rebounds and Gil Gonzales added 11 points to lead Orange (8-1) in a consolation game.
