Thompson Helps Toros Improve to 8-2

Despite shooting only 39% from the field, the Cal State Dominguez Hills men’s basketball team defeated Sonoma State, 69-55, on Thursday night at Carson.
The Toros (8-2) were led by junior guard Chris Thompson, who had a game-high 20 points. Junior Corwyn Lewis added 17 points and eight rebounds and forward Joe Bertrand finished with 10 points and 10 rebounds.
Dominguez Hills led, 31-26, at halftime, but Sonoma shot only 28% from the field in the second half, when the Toros built a 22-point lead. Stephen Koster led the Cossacks (2-7) with 16 points and eight rebounds.
The Toros will play host to Keene State of New Hampshire on Tuesday night.
