Heisler Park Trip--A field trip to Heisler Park in Laguna Beach, sponsored by the Sea & Sage chapter of the National Audubon Society, will be held Wednesday.
The park is a great lookout point for sea birds as well as the usual shorebirds, grebes, loons, gulls and pelicans. The park’s shrubbery also attracts a wide variety of land birds.
The trip will begin at 8 a.m. After visiting the park, the group will work its way along the coast to do more bird-watching.
Those interested in taking the trip are asked to bring binoculars, a bird book and a scope if they have one. They are also advised to wear warm clothing.
To reach the park, take Coast Highway to Cliff Drive, go south and the park will be on the right.
For more information, call the Sea & Sage chapter office at (714) 261-7963.
