Nintendo to Lay Off 136 U.S. Workers: Nintendo of America, a unit of Japan’s Nintendo Corp., said the layoffs will occur in the Seattle area as some manufacturing jobs are moved to Mexico. The workers received notice this week that they will be laid off in March. As a result of the job cuts, Nintendo’s U.S. work force of about 1,300 people will be reduced by 10%.
