ARCADIA: Five juveniles ages 12 to 15 were arrested Monday at First Avenue Middle School after they allegedly beat up a classmate repeatedly over debts he owed them after a Jan. 3 poker game, Sgt. Steve Gilmore said. Police made the arrests at the school about 10:30 a.m. after the victim called for help and said he was afraid of being beaten again by the youths. The five were released to their parents pending an investigation.
