Rita Long Barrett; Ex-President of Museum Costume Council

Rita Long Barrett, former president of the Costume Council of the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. Mrs. Barrett, a native of Joplin, Mo., who lived in Bel-Air, had been active in Southern California charitable and artistic causes for more than 50 years. In addition to her work with the Costume Council, she worked with the Junior League of Pasadena and with its chapters in San Francisco and Washington. She served as president of the Pasadena Settlement House and chaired the Coronets Debutante Ball in 1950. In recent years, Mrs. Barrett helped organize the Los Angeles support group for the National Museum of Women in the Arts in Washington. On Sunday in Culver City of a stroke.
