Rep. Hughes Announces Plans to Leave Congress

WASHINGTON — Rep. William J. Hughes (D-N.J.) announced his retirement Monday, saying that after two decades in Congress it was time to give others a chance at government service.
Hughes is the 30th member--15 from each party--to announce retirement from the House at the end of this session.
He did not specify his immediate plans.
