Metalclad Corp.: The Newport Beach firm said Friday that it will not build a hazardous-waste treatment and landfill project near Guadalcazar, Mexico, until it receives full state and local government support.
Metalclad said the project has all permits and capital necessary to begin construction, but the company wanted to avoid potential criticism caused by inadvertently ignoring local customs.
Metalclad said it is providing information about the plant requested by the governor of the state, San Luis Potosi, and the city of Guadalcazar.
