From Times Staff and Wire Reports
The Hoosier Lottery announced a settlement with two players whose $100,000 tickets in the multi-state Powerball game were ruled invalid because they were purchased illegally from a broker. The lottery agreed to pay $50,000 each to Scott Peterson of Eagan, Minn., and John Wall of Atlanta. Peterson and Wall claimed they were wrongfully denied the $100,000 second-prize payments when they matched five numbers in the July 7 drawing.
