Capistrano Valley Upsets El Toro

LAKE FOREST — Capistrano Valley, which upset top-ranked Mater Dei last week in boys’ soccer, again played the role of spoiler by beating eighth-ranked El Toro, 2-1, in a South Coast League game Wednesday at El Toro High.
Chris Tullar and Dustin Layne scored second-half goals for Capistrano Valley (11-5-3, 3-2-1 in league), which trailed, 1-0, at halftime. Mirko Vuksic had five saves for the Cougars. Wade Fraser scored for El Toro.
With the victory, the Cougars moved into a tie for second place with El Toro, which dropped to 13-3-4, 3-2-1.
