Assemblyman Ross Johnson (R-Fullerton) announced Thursday that he will seek reelection to the 72nd District seat, which includes the cities of Brea, Fullerton, La Habra, Placentia, Yorba Linda and portions of Anaheim and Buena Park.
Johnson said he will campaign on his support for anti-crime laws and his “continued efforts to speed California’s economic recovery.”
Johnson, 54, was first elected to the Assembly in 1978 and has been reelected seven times. He serves on the Assembly’s ways and means, revenue and taxation, insurance, elections and reapportionment and rules committees.
Johnson said he is “pushing for legislation to provide greater protection to the people of California from the senseless and violent crimes confronting our state.”
Meanwhile, Assemblyman Gil Ferguson (R-Newport Beach) has scheduled a press conference for today regarding his reelection plans.
