GARDEN GROVE : Free Session Offered on Parent Education

Dr. C.C. Violette Elementary School will host a parent education night on Thursday to discuss ways adults can help raise successful children.
The free event, which will include commentary by family counselors, will be held at 7 p.m. in a multipurpose room at the school, 12091 Lampson Ave. Counselors will discuss how to communicate effectively with children, parenting strategies and how to promote self-esteem in youngsters, said district spokesman Alan Trudell.
Translators will be available and group discussions will be held in English, Spanish and Vietnamese. Free child care and refreshments will be provided.
