A memorial service has been scheduled for Monday for Christy Lynne Hamilton, the rookie Los Angeles Police Department officer who was killed Tuesday while responding to a domestic disturbance call.
Hamilton, 45, who graduated from the Police Academy on Feb. 18, was shot in Northridge by a 17-year-old who had killed his father and then took his own life. She was the LAPD’s second female officer to die in the line of duty.
A viewing is planned from 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Forest Lawn’s Hollywood Hills mortuary, 6300 Forest Lawn Drive, Los Angeles. The memorial service will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at Grace Community Church of the Valley, 13248 Roscoe Blvd., Sun Valley. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial-Park, Hollywood Hills.
Memorial donations may be made to a fund in Hamilton’s name in care of the LAPD’s Employee Assistance Unit, Medical Liaison Section, 150 N. Los Angeles St., Room 818, Los Angeles 90012.
