BRIEFLY : Research: New Group Founded to Fight Diabetes

Attorney Andrew Katzenstein of Santa Monica has founded Cure Diabetes Now, a nonprofit organization supporting diabetes research.
Katzenstein, who will be president, says the organization will focus on research aimed at finding a cure for diabetes rather than on educational or diagnostic work.
“Diabetes researchers are doing wonderful things, but many are dealing with the peripheral effects of the disease rather than the disease itself,” he said. “We have one purpose only: to find a cure.”
