On the Board: In a recent study, the Washington-based watchdog organization Hispanic Assn. on Corporate Responsibility arrived at an eye-opening conclusion. Last year, Latinos held director positions at only 94 of the 1,000 largest U.S. companies--and none at Orange County’s five Fortune 500 companies. However, three of the county’s Service 500 companies have Latinos in their boardrooms: drug distributor Bergen Brunswig in Orange; engineering firm Fluor Corp. in Irvine; and Pacific Mutual Life Insurance Co. in Newport Beach.
