COLLEGE ROUNDUP : SCC Blanks Azusa Pacific in Softball

Shannon Saylor pitched a two-hitter and had four strikeouts as visiting Southern California College beat Azusa Pacific, 3-0, in a Golden State Athletic Conference softball game Tuesday.
Carrie Nelson had two hits and drove in a run for the Vanguards (15-4, 4-1 in conference). Angie Vega had a triple and scored in the second for SCC’s first run. Jen Caruso had an RBI single in the fifth to put SCC ahead, 3-0.
In nonconference softball:
Concordia 6-14, Biola 5-1--Stephanie Viola got the victory in both games for Concordia, pitching a six-hitter in the second game.
In Golden State Athletic Conference baseball:
Concordia 3, Southern California College 2--T.J. Wilcoxson drove in the game-winning run in the fourth inning for Concordia (7-13, 3-3). Augie Pena pitched four scoreless innings, striking out one, in relief for Southern California College. Alex Diaz had one hit, scored once and drove in a run for the Vanguards.
In nonconference baseball:
Chapman 15, The Master’s 9--Jason Switzer had three hits, scored two runs and drove in three and Duke Best collected three hits, scored twice and drove in two to lead Chapman (5-13).
