COLLEGE ROUNDUP : Miller, Scott Lead Master’s Over Pomona in Slugfest

Justin Miller had four hits, including two homers, to lead The Master’s College to a 17-10 victory over Pomona-Pitzer in a nonconference baseball game Tuesday at The Master’s.
David Scott also had four hits for The Master’s (10-24-2) and drove in three runs.
The Mustangs trailed, 6-3, after three innings but scored eight runs in the fourth to take an 11-6 lead. Master’s also scored two runs in each of the sixth, seventh and eighth innings.
The teams combined for 37 hits, with Master’s knocking out 24.
Oxnard 11, Glendale 1--Chad Olthoff (4-1) pitched a five-hitter for Oxnard, walking one and striking out one.
The fifth-inning run was unearned.
Jess Oliveras was three for four and drove in two runs for the Condors (13-15, 7-7 in Western State Conference play).
Matt Anderson’s two-run double in the first began Oxnard’s scoring and the Condors added eight runs in the fifth.
Pierce 6, Santa Barbara 3--First baseman Kevin Milligan had three hits and drove in three runs to lead the Brahmas in a WSC game.
Sophomore left-hander Adam West (6-4) pitched a complete game for Pierce (17-12, 9-5), allowing 10 hits while striking out four.
The Brahmas scored three runs in the top of the ninth to take a 6-2 lead before Santa Barbara scored a run in the bottom half.
Ventura 10, Santa Monica 3--George Macias doubled and singled with three runs batted in, leading the Pirates (17-12, 7-7) to a WSC victory at Ventura.
Jamal Nichols, Clint Harris and David Frazier each had two hits for Ventura. Frazier and Harris each scored two runs.
Brandon Knight (2-2), a Buena High graduate, pitched six innings of relief, giving up only one run to pick up the victory.
Santa Monica’s Javier Durazo had two doubles.
Bakersfield 5, Moorpark 4--The Renegades scored three runs in the fifth inning and held on for a WSC victory.
Sophomore Aaron Fischer had a double, the only extra-base hit among six hits for Moorpark (13-13-2, 6-6).
Bakersfield pounded out 13 hits.
San Bernardino Valley 16, Antelope Valley 3--Steve Ogden hit his Foothill Conference-leading 10th home run of the season, leading the Indians (18-12, 11-3) at San Bernardino.
San Bernardino Valley outhit Antelope Valley, 17-4.
Ryan Wilson was the losing pitcher for the Marauders (11-11, 5-8).
Jeff Bowne led Antelope Valley’s offense with two RBIs.
SOFTBALL
Cal Lutheran 8-5, La Verne 3-2--The Regals allowed 22 hits in the doubleheader but improved to 17-7, 13-0 in the Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with a sweep.
Cal Lutheran scored five runs in the fourth inning in the opener.
In the second game, winning pitcher Xochitl Castillo (6-1) hit a two-run double during a four-run first inning.
