A 23-year-old Santa Ana man was killed early Monday in a head-on collision when he drove the wrong way on the Riverside Freeway, the California Highway Patrol said.
Officers said they believe Guadalupe Medina Albarran was under the influence of alcohol when his pickup collided head-on with a station wagon just west of Coal Canyon Road in Anaheim Hills.
The man was partially ejected from the pickup and was pronounced dead at the scene, according to Officer Robert Polzin.
Three occupants of the station wagon, the 19-year-old driver, a 35-year-old woman and a 15-year-old girl, all from Moreno Valley, sustained moderate injuries, and were taken to Kaiser Permanente-Anaheim Medical Center.
