OCC Distance Runner Signs With Marshall

Adrienne Sweetser of Orange Coast, the 1993 Orange Empire Conference female cross-country runner of the year, has signed a letter of intent to attend Marshall University in Huntington, W.Va., OCC Coach Gordie Fitzel said.

Sweetser, an El Toro High graduate, was ninth in the state meet, helping her OCC team to a second-place finish behind Irvine Valley.

She is competing in 5,000-meter race for the OCC track team and already has earned a berth in the State meet.
