TORRANCE : Airport to Host Restored World War II Bombers

World War II veterans will get a chance to relive their wartime experiences when two restored bomber planes land at Torrance Municipal Airport this week.
Visitors may explore the B-24 Liberator and a B-17 Flying Fortress inside and out. A limited number of people also will be taken on flights in the planes.
The Palos Verdes Debriefing Team, a group of veteran pilots, is sponsoring the visit.
Tours cost $7 for adults and $3 for children younger than 12. The planes will arrive at the airport at 3301 Airport Blvd. Sunday at 3 p.m. and will be displayed until 2 p.m. Tuesday. Information: (310) 784-7900.
