ANAHEIM — A man who died after being stabbed in the throat during an argument has been identified as 25-year-old Lorenzo Herrera, but his assailant remains at large, police said Wednesday.
Herrera, a resident of Anaheim, was stabbed in an alley about 3 p.m. Tuesday in the 3400 block of West Canoga Place, near Del Monte Drive. Sgt. Steve Rodig said the victim knew his assailant.
“Apparently there was some kind of verbal altercation prior to the stabbing,” Rodig said. Police said they have a definite suspect but declined to release his name Wednesday because of the ongoing investigation. Authorities are still trying to locate the suspect.
Residents of an apartment complex near where the stabbing occurred said both men frequented the complex, where they have a friend. Apartment manager Bobbie Norton said neither man lived there.
“From what I understand, they were fighting over a Walkman radio,” Norton said. “This whole thing has made us all a little nervous. We’ve been up all night.”
