MOORPARK : Meeting Scheduled on Growth Control
- Share via
A new ordinance to control growth in Moorpark will be one of the topics discussed at a town hall meeting scheduled for 9 a.m. Saturday at Moorpark City Hall.
The ordinance, now in draft form, is intended to replace Measure F, the city’s slow-growth law, which was passed by Moorpark voters in 1986 and will expire at the end of 1995.
Residents passed the law in response to rapid development that tripled the city’s population during the 1980s.
The new law would continue to limit the number of building permits issued each year and ensure that the city of 26,000 does not grow beyond its projected population of 41,000 by the year 2010.
