Applications Being Accepted for Jobs Program

El Centro del Pueblo is recruiting young adults from Pico-Union, Temple-Beaudry, Echo Park, Silver Lake and parts of Hollywood for its annual job training program.
The nonprofit organization is accepting applications for the Job Training Partnership Act Youth Employment Competency program, primarily from people ages 18 to 21.
Participants will complete a 36-hour workshop before being placed in clerical, cashier or stockroom jobs. Wages range from $4.87 to $5.35 an hour for 30 to 40 hours a week.
El Centro del Pueblo is also seeking additional employers to provide training work sites; the organization will pay the wages and fringe benefits for all program participants.
The program is free and sponsored by the city’s Community Development Department and the Private Industry Council.
