Third-year wide receiver Robert Brooks has been cleared to return to the Green Bay Packer training camp after doctors performed a non-surgical technique to remove an extra muscle strand from his heart to treat Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome. . . . Kicker Doug Brien, a third-round pick from California, practiced with the San Francisco 49ers after ending a five-day holdout by signing a two-year contract worth $367,000.
