Asia Export-Import: Spurred by a flood of inquiries from the Vietnamese community, the Vietnamese Chamber of Commerce in Orange County is sponsoring a seminar Aug. 20 on Southeast Asia importing and exporting.
Co-sponsored by West Coast University, the seminar will discuss how to set up export businesses, trade laws in Asia, and marketing techniques. The meeting is from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Quality Hotel Maingate in Anaheim. The cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members.
Hien Phan, executive director of the Vietnamese chamber, said his office has been bombarded by calls since the United States opened trade with Vietnam in the past year.
Phan said many in Orange County are asking how they can sell consumer products like powdered milk and gum to Vietnam.
“Even owners of sandwich shops talk about import-export,” Phan said.
