Stadium Cigarette Ad

* Re: $3.6-million ad for Marlboro cigarettes in Anaheim Stadium (Times, Aug. 5):

I am appalled to learn my tax money is spent for the glory of cigarette smoking, which has caused the long-suffering death of many of my friends and others. At a time when the FDA is on the brink of declaring cigarettes an addictive drug, why are we so cruel as to promote this killer? For our children’s sake--take it down!
