Nigeria Calls Up Retired Oil Workers: The nation’s official radio said Labor Minister Samuel Ogbemudia had directed former oil officials to register for work with a view to being offered jobs. The military government is fighting a six-week strike by oil workers who support Moshood Abiola as president. Union leaders have vowed to continue the strike, which has disrupted fuel deliveries and cut oil output by about 20%.
