The body of a 27-year-old North Hollywood man was found early Friday washed up on shore at Lake Piru, a coroner’s spokeswoman said.
Jesus Danilo Carranza drowned Sunday while on an outing with his family. Carranza was wearing a life vest but began to struggle in the water, authorities said.
Family members aboard a rented boat threw him more life vests, but he continued to sink. A man aboard the boat dived into the lake to try to save Carranza but was unsuccessful, deputies said.
A sheriff’s helicopter and a search-and-rescue dive team were unable to find Carranza Sunday. Rangers made the discovery Friday.
