VENTURA : Party Will Benefit School Playground
- Share via
A group of Ventura residents will host a community block party to raise funds for a playground at a midtown elementary school.
The residents are asking the community to donate items for a yard sale to be held during the fund-raiser, which is scheduled to take place at Blanche Reynolds Elementary School at 450 Valmore Ave.
The Aug. 27 event will feature games, food, a raffle for a trip to Mexico and the rummage sale. For a fee, parents can put their children’s name and handprints into the Rainbow Bridge Community Playground.
Residents hope to raise $100,000 to fund the playground, which is scheduled to be built by volunteers in November.
