A 48-year-old Van Nuys man was killed Monday morning when he apparently fell asleep at the wheel of his car and crashed into a building in North Hills, police said.
Naser Naderiafshrnejad was killed instantly in the accident on Sepulveda Boulevard, according to Officer Phillip Walters.
Walters said the man was driving north on Sepulveda near Chase Street at 4:30 a.m. when the car drifted across the southbound lanes, ran off the road and struck a commercial building. Several large audio speakers in the back of the station wagon slid forward and hit the victim in the back, Walters said.
