SUN VALLEY : Alarcon, Residents to Study Economic Plan
- Share via
Los Angeles City Councilman Richard Alarcon has scheduled two information sessions this week for Sun Valley residents on the Los Angeles Neighborhood Initiative (LANI), a nonprofit organization assembled through Mayor Richard Riordan’s office that explores economic development opportunities in blighted areas.
Along with members of the Sun Valley Recognized Community Organization, a division of LANI made up of business people and community leaders, Alarcon will field questions and solicit suggestions from residents.
The meetings are scheduled today at 7 p.m. and Sunday at noon in the Sun Valley Recreation Center, 8133 Vineland Ave.
The objective of LANI is to benefit economically disadvantaged transit-dependent communities by revitalizing public spaces and promoting business along major city streets and transportation corridors. LANI is funded by the U.S. Department of Transportation through the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority.
