Seeded Players Win at Wheelchair Event

IRVINE — The eight seeded players won in first-round play of the men’s U.S. Open Wheelchair tennis championships Monday at The Racquet Club of Irvine.
Matt McManus of Coral Gables, Fla., beat Katsunari Yamamoto of San Diego, 6-1, 6-0, and second-seeded Rocky LeBlanc of Goodlettsville, Tenn., beat Shuhoi Ishimoto of Japan, 6-1, 6-2.
Admission is free to the tournament, which continues today through Sunday.
