To celebrate National Fire Prevention Safety Week, Universal Studios and the First Alert Company will donate 500 smoke detectors for low-income families.
Reinforcing this year’s motto “Test Your Detector for Life,” Universal’s Doc Brown character from “Back to the Future” will present the detectors to officials from the Los Angeles County Fire Department on Wednesday. An 8:30 a.m. ceremony will be held in front of the “Backdraft” attraction at Universal Studios.
The Fire Department is distributing the detectors to the families during National Fire Prevention Safety Week, which runs through Saturday.
