QVC Creates Single Offering: Faced with mounting costs and limited channel space on local cable systems, QVC Inc. is consolidating its Q2 home shopping channel with its onQ weekday service into a single seven-day operation. Q2 President Candace Carpenter was let go along with about 20 other employees. The consolidation could eventually result in the layoffs of more than 100 workers, sources said. The consolidated operation will now be overseen by Mark Bozek, senior vice president of programming and broadcasting, and Caryn Lerner, senior vice president of merchandising and planning.
