TUSTIN : Currie Middle School to Mark State Honor

A.G. Currie Middle School will celebrate its designation as one of this year’s California Distinguished schools today by honoring teachers, students, parents and school administrators.
The school is one of 180 middle and high schools statewide honored by the California Department of Education for having excellent school programs, strong parent and community support and providing a good learning environment.
Foothill High School in Santa Ana also was named a distinguished school this year. Three other schools in the Tustin Unified School District--Arroyo Elementary and Hewes Middle, both in Santa Ana, and Helen Estock Elementary in Tustin--were honored in recent years.
County Supt. of Schools John F. Dean will attend Currie’s program at 1402 Sycamore Ave. Trustees Gloria Matta Tuchman and Todd Ferguson and Supt. David Andrews are expected to attend.
The ceremonies start at 10 a.m.
