NATION IN BRIEF : MISSOURI : 3 in Abu Nidal Cell Jailed in Terror Plot

Three members of the Abu Nidal organization, described by the State Department as the world’s most dangerous terrorist group, were sentenced in St. Louis to 21 months in prison for plotting terrorist acts. The case was the first indication that a cell was operating in the country. Tawfiq Musa, 45, of Milwaukee, and brothers Saif Nijmeh, 35, of the St. Louis suburb of Bridgeton, and Luie Nijmeh, 30, of Dayton, Ohio, pleaded guilty in July to racketeering charges. The defendants and a fourth man were indicted on charges they plotted to kill Jews and blow up the Israeli Embassy in Washington.
