FCC Chief’s ‘True Facts’ an Orwellian Directive

“FCC Chief Wants Talk Radio to Deal in ‘True Facts’ ” (Oct. 14) is shades of (George) Orwell’s “1984,” only 10 years later than originally anticipated.

Can FCC Chairman Reed Hundt abrogate the First Amendment to the Constitution by telling talk radio stations and their participants they must tell the truth? How about all the goop advertisers promise will make us beautiful, healthy and sexy? When have we heard anything believable from anyone in government?

“True Facts” is an interesting title since there are no such things as false facts.
