Northrop Grumman Settles Suit for $53 Million: The Los Angeles-based aerospace concern paid the sum to computer maker Data General Corp. to settle a lawsuit alleging software copyright infringement and trade secret violations. The suit was filed six years ago against two divisions of Grumman Corp., which Northrop Corp. bought last spring. Data General, based in Westboro, Mass., said the settlement follows a ruling by the U.S. Court of Appeals in Boston affirming most of a verdict favoring Data General.
