Catfish Anglers Would Love to Be in Their Boat
- Share via
Catfish season is winding down, but what a way to go.
Le Hai of Westminster set an Irvine Lake record with a 61-pound 8-ounce catfish under a full moon last Saturday. And then Bon Seng, also of Westminster, landed one at 58-8--from the same boat.
Hai’s fish might also be a state record for channel catfish. A biologist from the Department of Fish and Game will determine whether it is a channel or blue catfish today. Blue catfish grow considerably larger than channel catfish.
