COLLEGE FOOTBALL DAILY REPORT : USC : Then There Were Four for Rose Bowl

The Rose Bowl race:
--If Arizona (4-0) wins the rest of its games, it goes to the Rose Bowl.
--If Oregon (3-1) wins the rest of its games--it plays Arizona on Saturday--and if Washington State loses another game, the Ducks go to the Rose Bowl.
--If USC (4-1) wins the rest of its games--the Trojans will play Arizona on Nov. 12--and someone else beats Oregon, the Trojans go to the Rose Bowl.
--If Washington State (3-1) wins the rest of its games and if Arizona loses twice, the Cougars go to the Rose Bowl.

Washington State will play at Cal on Saturday before USC plays at Pullman on Nov. 5. The Cougars lead the Pac-10 in total defense by a wide margin, giving up 214.6 yards per game, compared to runner-up Arizona’s 263.7. Washington State leads the Pac-10 in every major defensive category and leads the nation in rushing defense with a 53-yard average. Before their 28-21 victory over Arizona State last weekend, the Cougars hadn’t given up more than 10 points in a game.
