Glendora High Has to Forfeit Five Victories

The Glendora High football team had to forfeit five victories on Tuesday for using an ineligible player.
The player is an unidentified sophomore starter who was only 14 through the first six weeks of the season. California Interscholastic Federation rules require that varsity football players be at least 15.
“There was a mix-up between the coach and athletic director over who was supposed to check sophomore eligibility,” said Kent Bechler, Glendora’s principal. “We found out about this late last week and pulled the player for last week’s game.”
The player is now 15 and is eligible to play in Friday’s Baseline League game against Claremont at Citrus College.
Glendora’s new record is 0-2 in league and 0-7 overall. It forfeits victories against Santa Margarita, Baldwin Park, Covina Charter Oak, Diamond Bar and La Verne Damien.
