Cal State Northridge will hold an Earthquake Recovery Job Fair and Minority Business Opportunity Day on campus Saturday to inform contracting businesses run by minorities and women how to procure jobs with private industries and public agencies.
The event will offer a forum on how to find these jobs, as well.
Starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 4 p.m., workshops and panel discussions are scheduled on finance and bonding and the procurement of contracting work targeted at minorities and women in architecture, engineering, general contracting and painting, said Jeffrey Flores, outreach director of the Construction Management and Technical Service, a minority-owned management firm.
Construction Management oversees the rebuilding efforts at CSUN and all other construction projects at Cal State schools, Flores said.
The fair and opportunity day are free and sponsored by Construction Management and Mayor Richard Riordan’s office. Information: (818) 407-7717.
