Newbury Park 40, Camarillo 0--Sophomore quarterback Chris Czernek passed for 219 yards and one touchdown to lead Newbury Park at Camarillo. Czernek completed nine of 15 passes.
Newbury Park (5-3, 3-2) began the scoring on its opening drive, going 76 yards in nine plays capped by junior running back Brock Diediker’s 10-yard run. The Panthers amassed 402 yards.
Newbury Park linebackers Chris Adams and Eric Mahanke made it a rough night for Camarillo sophomore quarterback Joe Borchard, sacking him eight times and holding the Scorpions (2-6, 0-5) to 31 total yards.
