Santa Ana Unified School District officials will honor 193 businesses today for setting up partnerships with local schools to help educate children.
The ninth annual event is designed to honor “adopt-a-school” participants whose businesses provide volunteers, facility tours, after-school tutoring, scholarships and other benefits to local campuses, said district spokeswoman Diane Thomas.
More than 300 representatives from companies including Fluor Daniel, Ricoh Electronics, Southern California Edison and W.R. Grace as well as the city of Santa Ana are expected to attend the 7:30 a.m. ceremony at the Elks Lodge, 212 Elk Lane, she said.
