Flap Over Filming of Movie Is a Non-Event

Your article (Oct. 27) about the filming of an adult movie on the grounds of Burbank’s water and power plant was interesting. The filming was legal, had the required police permits and took place Sunday morning, normally a quiet day.
Apparently, a few city employees were offended when they came to work and noticed the filming. Somebody complained to a supervisor. One employee said he felt the behavior he saw would be acceptable in a bar but not at his workplace. A less newsworthy event can hardly be imagined.
The Burbank city manager and the general manager of the Public Services Department were worried and concerned about the potential “unfavorable effect (upon these two or three city employees) on the reputation of the city of Burbank, and of the Public Services Department.” Their solution: to call a news conference and splash this non-event in front of millions of Southern Californians.
